      Defender – Adaptive Cruise Control Activation

      Short description: JLRCoding delivers a factory‑grade activation of the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) system for Land Rover Defender.       Technical Overview

      From the 2024 model year onward the Defender L663 platform is equipped with the hardware needed for ACC – a forward‑looking 77 GHz FMCW radar (part 8U1208) mounted behind the front grille, a dedicated CAN‑bus channel (ID 0x2A) and a high‑resolution speed sensor.       1. Safety isolation: Disconnect the 12 V battery and wait 5 minutes to clear stored energy from the CAN network.
      2. Diagnostic connection: Re‑connect the battery, attach a JLR TechTool cable to the OBD‑II port and open the “Powertrain” module.
      3. Firmware audit: Verify the PCM version, confirm radar presence, and record the current cruise‑control configuration.
      4. Software enable: In TechTool → Vehicle Setup → Adaptive Cruise tick “Enable Adaptive Cruise Control”. The tool writes the activation flag to the PCM and flashes the latest ACC map (v2.3).
