Power Folding Mirrors
JLR motorised door‑side mirror – specs, wiring, TOPIx activation and instant ordering.
What Are Power Folding Mirrors?
The Power Folding Mirrors are motorised door‑side mirrors supplied as an OEM option on Jaguar & Land Rover vehicles from model‑year 2022 onward. The unit combines a high‑strength aluminium housing, a 12 V DC folding actuator and an integrated rain‑sensor switch. When the driver presses the “Fold” button on the remote‑key or the cockpit switch, the mirror panel pivots 80° inward, reducing the vehicle’s overall width for tight‑space parking.
OEM part number: JPLA‑22M036‑BP. The mirrors are pre‑programmed for the vehicle’s Body Control Module (BCM) but require a one‑time TOPIx activation to enable the “Power‑Fold” function on vehicles that were originally built without the option.

Wiring & Integration
The actuator receives power and command signals through the BCM‑controlled “Mirror‑Fold” relay (relay‑ID R22). Pin‑out of the 6‑pin harness is colour‑coded as follows:
| Pin | Signal | Colour | Function |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | +12 V (BCM) | Red | Power to actuator motor |
| 2 | Ground | Black | Chassis ground |
| 3 | Fold Command | Green | BCM pulse (activate R22) |
| 4 | Unfold Command | Blue | BCM pulse (de‑activate R22) |
| 5 | Rain‑Sensor Switch | Yellow | Optional – disables fold when raining |
| 6 | Diagnostic TX/RX | Purple | TOPIx flash interface |
All signals are protected by a 3 A fuse (F215) in the BCM fuse block. The mirror housing is bolted to the A‑pillar bracket; the electrical connector plugs into the steering‑column harness (part # APS‑D14‑018).
TOPIx Activation – Enabling Power‑Fold
1️⃣ Preparation
- Park the vehicle, engage the hand‑brake and set the ignition to “ON”.
- Connect a 70 A + battery maintainer to guarantee a stable voltage.
- Insert a certified
JLR Enet Wi‑Fiadapter into the OBD‑II port. - Launch TOPIx on a laptop with internet access; log in with engineering credentials.
2️⃣ Read Current CCF
- Select Vehicle → Identify → Mirror System (MIR) and click “Read CCF”.
- Locate the flag
PowerFoldEnabled. On a non‑folding build it will be0.
3️⃣ Enable the Power‑Fold Feature
- Set
PowerFoldEnabledto1. - Save the edited CCF and press **Write CCF** – TOPIx automatically recomputes the checksum.
- Run MIR → Self‑Test → Fold to verify the relay toggles and the actuator moves.
4️⃣ Calibration & Confirmation
- After activation, press the “Fold” button on the remote‑key. The mirror should fold fully within 2 seconds.
- Press the “Unfold” button – the mirror must return to the open position smoothly.
- If the rain‑sensor is fitted, simulate rain (spray a light mist) and verify that folding is inhibited.
- Clear any DTCs such as
C0A60‑00 – Mirror‑Fold Faultusing the “Clear Fault Codes” command.
5️⃣ Final Validation
- Power‑cycle the vehicle (IGN OFF → ON) and repeat the fold/unfold test.
- Run a quick “All Systems OK” scan in TOPIx – any remaining DTCs must be cleared.
- Record the new CCF checksum and activation date in the service log as proof of a factory‑approved upgrade.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can a vehicle without factory‑folding mirrors be upgraded?
Yes – provided the BCM contains the “PowerFoldEnabled” flag (present on all 2022‑2025 platforms). After fitting the motorised actuator, the TOPIx activation steps are required.
Will the power‑fold function impact fuel consumption?
The actuator only draws current while moving (≈ 2 A peak). When the vehicle is stationary and the mirror is in either position, no additional power is consumed.
Is the Power Folding Mirror covered by JLR warranty?
When installed with the correct TOPIx activation, it enjoys the standard 12‑month/12 000 km warranty. Keep the activation checksum as evidence of proper installation.
What DTC indicates a mirror‑fold fault?
The primary fault is C0A60‑00 – Mirror‑Fold Fault. After re‑activating the feature and confirming movement, the code can be cleared.
