JLR Advanced Tow Assist Engineering Logic

JLR’s Advanced Tow Assist is a multi-module coordinated ADAS system built on native CAN FD network communication. The TCM processes camera vision data, SAS steering position readings and trailer wiring CAN signals to calculate target reverse trajectories.
The EPS module receives calibrated steering angle commands to autonomously adjust vehicle direction while the driver controls brake and throttle inputs. Built-in safety protocols pause all automatic steering if pedestrians, walls or terrain obstructions are detected in camera frames.
Factory CCF feature bits block communication between the TCM and EPS on standard trims. Our certified configuration edit removes these communication restrictions and loads full OEM towing ADAS calibration maps stored within stock vehicle firmware. All factory anti-trailer-sway and trailer stability control systems remain fully active post-upgrade.
