JLR develops Gen 2 Activity Key hardware with enhanced cryptographic security compared to first-generation units. The wearable transponder communicates exclusively with the vehicle’s KVM and PEPS modules via encrypted RF protocols. It locks the vehicle and immobilises the cabin smart key when activated, preventing internal key lockouts. The system automatically re-enables the interior fob once the wearable key authenticates on return. All security handshake procedures follow JLR factory anti-theft standards to block unauthorised cloning and signal replay attacks. Module integration maintains full CAN bus stability without generating network DTC faults.
