Product Overview (JLR OEM‑Spec Infotainment Feature Activation)

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Pack is a factory‑feature activation for modern DOIP‑architecture Jaguar Land Rover vehicles. Many Defender L663 and new‑generation Range Rover units ship with Pivi Pro hardware capable of smartphone mirroring. The feature stays software‑locked in the vehicle configuration file for certain market or trim levels.

This is a pure software‑based activation. It does not require new infotainment hardware. Our jlrcoding technicians perform authorised DOIP diagnostic work and CCF configuration edits. The process unlocks the native Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functions built inside your existing Pivi Pro infotainment module.

Infotainment Operating Logic & Core Functions

Once activated, the Pivi Pro system recognises compatible smartphones through the vehicle’s USB‑C media port. Users connect their device with a certified data‑capable USB‑C cable. The infotainment screen displays the native CarPlay or Android Auto interface directly.

Supported functions include smartphone navigation, media playback, hands‑free calling and voice assistant control. Steering‑wheel media buttons work fully with the activated smartphone pack. Status information syncs correctly between ICM infotainment module and vehicle gateway over CAN‑FD network.

Please note this base pack enables wired connections only. Wireless smartphone mirroring depends on additional factory‑fitted wireless charging module hardware. Activation alone cannot add wireless functionality if that physical component is missing from your vehicle build.

Vehicle Eligibility & Technical Pre‑Conditions

This Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Pack activation applies to 2020‑onwards DOIP‑based JLR vehicles such as Defender L663, Range Rover L460 and Range Rover Sport L461. Submit your VIN number to jlrcoding first for pre‑activation validation.

Your vehicle must have working data‑enabled USB‑C media ports in the centre console. Damaged or charge‑only USB ports will prevent proper smartphone communication. Our technicians run a full DOIP pre‑scan before starting work. This scan checks ICM module health and clears pre‑existing infotainment‑related DTC fault entries.

You can book local workshop activation or global remote coding service. Remote sessions require a DOIP‑VCI or Enet Type‑C cable following jlrcoding standard remote‑service workflow.

Software activation cannot fix faulty USB ports or damaged infotainment modules. SOTA over‑the‑air updates will not remove this activation.
