Short Description

Our Powered Tailgate activation is a dealer-level OEM coding service designed for modern Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles. Most mid-range and new-gen JLR models are factory fitted with complete electric tailgate motor assemblies, lift struts and tailgate control modules. Even with full physical hardware installed during production, factory CCF trim restrictions disable automatic electric operation on base-spec vehicles. For this reason, the boot only functions via manual lifting and closing. Our validated Pathfinder programming unlocks full factory Powered Tailgate logic. In turn, it enables fully automatic electric operation, soft latching and integrated safety protection with zero DTC faults.

Product Technical Overview

Standard manual tailgates require physical force to open and close. Heavy OEM tailgate panels can cause strain during daily use. They also carry risks of slamming shut unexpectedly, causing body damage or personal injury. Many JLR rolling chassis vehicles come pre-built with electric tailgate hardware locked by factory software limitations.

Genuine JLR Powered Tailgate is a factory-calibrated electric actuation system. It uses OEM motorised struts and dedicated ECU controls to manage consistent opening and closing speeds. Unlike manual operation, the electric system delivers smooth, controlled movement every time. Best of all, our upgrade is a pure software configuration edit. It requires no mechanical parts, strut replacements or wiring modifications. Additionally, it preserves all factory safety thresholds and module communication protocols.
