Add Additional Key Fob Programming | JLR PEPS Smart‑Key Enrolment DOIP Service

Short Description

Our Add Additional Key Fob service delivers genuine OEM smart‑key fob supply and secure dealer‑grade DOIP PEPS key‑enrolment programming for modern DOiP‑enabled Jaguar and Land‑Rover vehicles equipped with Passive‑Entry Passive‑Start (PEPS) systems.

Many DOiP JLR KVM keyless‑vehicle‑module units contain multiple empty key memory slots for extra smart‑fobs. However, simply purchasing a blank genuine key fob cannot make it communicate with the vehicle PEPS security architecture. Therefore, without valid secure DOIP enrolment, KVM, BCM body‑controller, ECM engine‑control‑module and GWM gateway reject the new fob transponder credentials, generate PEPS security‑related DTC faults, and the instrument‑cluster will persistently display “Smart key not found” warnings, preventing passive‑entry, remote‑lock‑unlock and push‑button‑start functions for the new key.

In addition, we utilise certified Pathfinder DOIP security‑access routines to perform secure smart‑fob enrolment, immobiliser synchronisation, rolling‑code alignment and update relevant CCF security‑configuration parameters. We supply genuine OEM frequency‑matched smart‑key fobs for retrofit‑eligible vehicles; customers may also provide their own pre‑purchased valid blank OEM key‑fob hardware for secure programming.

Product Technical Overview

JLR OEM PEPS Passive‑Entry Passive‑Start security system is managed by the dedicated KVM Keyless‑Vehicle‑Module. Furthermore, KVM communicates over CAN‑FD bus with BCM, ECM and GWM gateway modules, using LF low‑frequency antennas and RF radio‑frequency signals to validate each registered smart‑key‑fob transponder identity before granting access and engine‑start authorisation.

The factory‑spec KVM supports multiple registered smart‑key‑fob memory slots. As a result, after secure DOIP enrolment, the additional key fob gains full OEM functionality including passive‑entry grip‑to‑unlock, touch‑to‑lock, remote button operation and push‑button ignition start. Each key stores unique rolling‑code security data which must synchronise between KVM and the physical fob hardware to prevent replay‑type security‑risks.

Physical genuine blank key‑fob hardware alone cannot complete vehicle‑security integration. Meanwhile, secure diagnostic‑session access is mandatory to write new transponder‑ID data into KVM memory and perform immobiliser handshake synchronisation across the powertrain‑security domain. Multiple DOiP‑architecture JLR platforms require explicit security‑domain validation and CCF security‑flag updates to recognise the newly‑added key‑fob within the vehicle security topology.

Generic third‑party key‑cloning tools and unauthorised key‑writing procedures cannot replicate JLR factory PEPS rolling‑code alignment, immobiliser sync rules and bus‑security‑protection protocols. Consequently, poor‑quality key‑programming can produce intermittent KVM‑BCM‑ECM DTC faults, non‑responsive key‑fob functions, partial passive‑entry failure or trigger vehicle anti‑theft alarm lockdown states.

Our programming strictly follows official JLR OEM PEPS security‑system technical specifications. Note that we only perform secure authorised key‑enrolment into free KVM memory‑slots; we avoid destructive full‑KVM‑module erasure where existing working vehicle keys must be preserved. All factory anti‑theft immobiliser routines, diagnostic‑logging routines and bus‑signal‑protection stay fully intact, preserving long‑term PEPS‑system and control‑module‑hardware reliability.

Core OEM Technical Features

After key‑fob hardware preparation, secure DOIP enrolment and PEPS synchronisation, the added additional key‑fob operates strictly to original JLR factory specifications.

Genuine added OEM smart‑key‑fob delivers complete PEPS functionality. Moreover, factory‑spec passive‑entry grip‑unlock, touch‑lock, remote‑button lock‑unlock, panic‑alarm and push‑button engine‑start work identically to original factory‑supplied vehicle keys.

PEPS security‑status and transponder‑validation‑signals transmit correctly across CAN‑FD bus. In addition, instrument‑cluster key‑status indicators operate correctly; no persistent “smart‑key‑not‑found” security‑system fault lamps appear after successful enrolment. All original pre‑existing programmed vehicle keys retain 100 % of their full operational capability alongside the newly‑added key‑fob.

Every key‑transponder‑ID entry, rolling‑code synchronisation value and immobiliser‑handshake parameter retains OEM‑factory‑defined values for JLR PEPS security‑system specification.

Key Technical & Functional Benefits

  • Genuine OEM Smart‑Key‑Fob Hardware Supply / Compatibility Check: Supply frequency‑matched genuine JLR smart‑key‑fobs or validate customer‑supplied OEM blank‑fob hardware following JLR PEPS security‑system service standards.
  • KVM PEPS Secure Key‑Enrolment & Immobiliser‑Sync: DOIP secure‑session key‑fob enrolment, rolling‑code alignment and synchronises KVM‑BCM‑ECM‑GWM modules for full additional‑key‑fob PEPS‑system operation.
  • Full OEM Additional‑Key‑Fob Feature‑Set Activation: Activate complete PEPS functions: passive‑entry, touch‑lock, remote‑buttons, panic‑alarm and push‑button start for the newly‑programmed smart‑key‑fob.
  • Preserve Existing Working Keys: Write key‑data into vacant KVM memory‑slots; original pre‑programmed vehicle keys remain fully functional without erasure.
  • Fault‑Free Multi‑Module Security‑Validation: Dealer‑grade DOIP programming plus comprehensive key‑fob functional‑validation maintains clean CAN‑FD‑bus communication with zero residual PEPS‑security‑related DTC fault‑codes.
  • Security‑Safe Non‑Destructive Configuration: Validated secure key‑slot enrolment; no irreversible KVM‑module flash‑erasure unless explicitly required for all‑keys‑lost scenarios.

Vehicle Compatibility

This Add Additional Key Fob programming service supports DOiP‑capable JLR platforms fitted with factory PEPS Passive‑Entry Passive‑Start KVM security‑module hardware.

Supported platforms include New Range Rover L460, Range Rover Sport L461, Defender L663, Velar, Discovery 5 L462 and latest‑generation premium Jaguar DOIP‑chassis models with PEPS keyless‑entry‑system. Note that each chassis requires region‑correct frequency‑specification smart‑key‑fob hardware (315 MHz / 433 MHz). The KVM module must contain unused free key‑memory‑slots to accept an additional key‑fob enrolment.

Vehicles with locked security‑domains, exhausted KVM key‑memory‑slots or non‑compliant KVM‑BCM‑ECM firmware revision are not eligible for standard add‑additional‑key‑fob service. Before commencing key‑enrolment work, our team completes full pre‑program diagnostic‑scan. Specifically, this scan validates KVM‑BCM‑ECM module firmware‑versions, CAN‑FD‑bus stability, available KVM key‑slot count and PEPS‑security‑system health‑checks.

Service & Transactional Details

Our complete service workflow opens with multi‑module pre‑upgrade diagnostics covering KVM keyless‑vehicle‑module, BCM body‑controller, ECM engine‑controller and GWM gateway unit.

We read existing PEPS‑security‑system DTC history, verify function of at least one original working vehicle key‑fob, count available vacant KVM key‑memory‑slots and confirm correct smart‑key‑fob hardware‑frequency eligibility for Add Additional Key Fob service. Furthermore, technicians prepare genuine OEM smart‑key‑fob hardware (or validate customer‑provided fob hardware), ensure stable 12‑volt battery supply to avoid interruption during secure‑programming operations following Jaguar Land‑Rover official workshop‑service‑procedures for PEPS key‑enrolment.

After hardware validation and stable power‑condition confirmation, technicians run official JLR Pathfinder DOIP secure‑diagnostic‑session, execute smart‑key‑fob enrolment, immobiliser synchronisation and rolling‑code alignment. This procedure writes new transponder‑credentials into vacant KVM memory‑slots and synchronises KVM‑BCM‑ECM‑GWM across the vehicle‑security‑domain data‑streams.

We then execute full functional‑validation‑testing including passive‑entry grip‑unlock, touch‑lock, remote‑button functions, panic‑alarm trigger and push‑button‑start verification for all programmed vehicle keys (original + newly‑added). Lastly technicians clear all residual fault‑codes to deliver consistent long‑term OEM‑standard Add Additional Key Fob PEPS‑system performance.
