Activity Key GEN2
Product Overview (JLR OEM‑Spec Wearable Wrist‑Key Retrofit)
Activity Key GEN2 is an OEM‑spec wearable security‑key retrofit for DOIP‑architecture JLR Defender L663 vehicles. Many owners taking part in surfing, swimming, hiking or off‑road activities wish to avoid carrying a standard smart‑key fob, which risks water damage or loss. This complete retrofit adds the genuine JLR GEN2 waterproof wrist‑band activity‑key system for outdoor‑focused vehicle access and starting capability.
This upgrade is not software‑only activation. It requires the IP68‑rated GEN2 activity‑key wrist‑band hardware. Your vehicle must already be fitted with fully‑functional PEPS passive‑entry and passive‑start hardware. Professional jlrcoding DOIP diagnostics, CCF feature‑flag configuration, KVM/RFA keyless‑vehicle‑module adaptation and official immobiliser key‑learn synchronisation are mandatory for full system operation.
Activity Key GEN2 Hardware & Operating Logic
The retrofit kit includes OEM‑spec Activity Key GEN2 silicone wrist‑band transponder unit. The sealed internal lithium cell provides multi‑year service life without charging ports. It combines 125 kHz LF‑band RFID transponder and encrypted 433 MHz UHF rolling‑code transmission, fully matching factory smart‑key cryptographic security standards.
Once programmed into KVM/RFA non‑volatile memory, the GEN2 activity‑key supports passive‑entry touch‑handle lock‑unlock, walk‑away locking and passive‑start push‑button engine ignition. The wrist‑band can be worn under wetsuits or outdoor protective gear. Instrument cluster will list the Activity Key GEN2 within the registered‑key inventory once coding completes.
The wrist‑band contains no physical button inputs. Raw transponder hardware alone cannot communicate with vehicle immobiliser until completing full DOIP key‑learn and security‑ID synchronisation over the CAN‑FD bus network.
Vehicle Eligibility & Technical Pre‑Conditions
This Activity Key GEN2 retrofit fits 2020‑onwards Defender L663 90, 110 and 130 chassis. Factory‑working PEPS passive‑entry / passive‑start hardware is a strict prerequisite. Submit your VIN number to jlrcoding first for pre‑retrofit KVM/RFA module‑part‑number compatibility validation. At least one fully‑working original smart‑key fob must be present on‑vehicle during the programming session.
After preparing the genuine GEN2 wrist‑band hardware, our technicians run a full DOIP pre‑scan. We back‑up your original CCF file, enable Activity‑Key feature flags and execute authorised PEPS key‑learn routine inside KVM/RFA module. Immobiliser cryptographic synchronisation is performed and all security‑related temporary DTC fault codes get cleared in post‑configuration steps.
You can arrange local workshop service or our global remote coding service. Remote sessions require a DOIP‑VCI or Enet Type‑C cable following jlrcoding standard remote‑service workflow. Physical GEN2 wrist‑band hardware must be present at the vehicle location for key‑learn procedure.
Key Technical & Practical Benefits
- IP68 Waterproof OEM Wearable Key: Sealed GEN2 wrist‑band built for water‑sports, hiking and off‑road outdoor activities, no charging required.
- Full PEPS Passive‑Entry & Passive‑Start: Supports touch‑handle lock/unlock, walk‑away lock and push‑button engine start identical to standard smart‑fob behaviour.
- Factory‑Grade Encrypted Security: Rolling‑code RFID‑UHF communication integrated with KVM/RFA immobiliser, matching original JLR anti‑cloning security standards.
- Professional KVM/RFA & DOIP Security Procedure: CCF backup, authorised key‑learn and DTC clearing to prevent security‑system warning‑light faults.
Quality Assurance & Service Notes
Every Activity Key GEN2 programming session includes pre‑service diagnostic health‑check and original CCF backup. Our team performs post‑programming verification: testing touch‑handle entry, walk‑away locking and passive‑start engine‑ignition for both original smart‑fobs and the new GEN2 activity‑key wrist‑band.
This service completes software‑side security registration only. It cannot repair faulty KVM/RFA modules or damaged wrist‑band transponder hardware. Once fully programmed, the Activity Key GEN2 delivers convenient, robust hands‑free vehicle access for Defender L663 owners with active outdoor and overland lifestyles.
