JLR Adaptive Cruise Control systems utilise a forward-facing high-frequency radar module to monitor preceding vehicle distance and speed. Firstly, the ADAS ECU processes real-time radar data to maintain user-defined gap intervals across all road speeds. Secondly, the Stop Go functionality delivers full queue-assist operation, bringing the vehicle to a complete stationary halt in traffic. Meanwhile, Traffic Jam Assist supplements low-speed driving by smoothing acceleration and braking in congested conditions. The system communicates continuously with the ABS, powertrain ECU and gateway module over the CAN-FD chassis network. In most cases, factory trim restrictions disable low-speed logic and stationary queue handling. Additionally, these hidden ADAS layers require official dealer CCF activation and radar calibration for full operational capability.
